Sunday 12 November 2017 - God speaks in the Silence

Elijah as one of God’s prophets, feared God but obeyed him. God comes to Elijah on the mountain, but not in the noise of the earthquake or the wind but in the silence.

• Are you ever completely quiet?

We discussed the noises we face each day especially on Guy Fawkes night. We fill our lives with noise: a soundtrack or music, traffic and electrical hum, fills our lives.

Encouraged to sit quietly for 10 minutes making words from “God speaks in the Silence”

• How did it feel to be quiet for 10 minutes? A question we can only answer ourselves.

Finished by making “firework cake”

JAM teens becoming full members of the church

 13 November - Remembrance Service - Wreaths
The Community sharing and reflecting for those who lost their lives in past wars and the one who laid His life down for us; Jesus Our Lord and Saviour.

Sunday 3 April - with our hands we formed a cross

yc1We discussed and focused on waiting, gone from view, PROMISED SPIRIT and prayer. One of our items - we had to form a CROSS with our hands, to remind us that Jesus was nailed to the cross -  taking our punishment.

Sunday 14 February - reflections on Lent

Lent is season of preparation and reflection for 40 days before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday to Easter. Lent is marked by fasting, both from food and festivities. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus after his death on the cross.

"Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

The visual aid above explained the winding journey along life's road with its smiley faces (blessings), obstacles (stones), preparing us for our journey through the 40 days of Lent.
