PRAYERS for MAY

As you go proclaim the Good News. Matthew 10:5-15

5th to 11th:

Lord you are always there. You went before us, prepared the way, yet still we were afraid. Forgive us Lord, for the times we did not speak out: for the times we did not look or listen for the times we ran the opposite way. Forgive us, Lord for the times we tried to hide from You. Lord help us to go where your wind blows us, to speak the words you give us. Lord help us every step of the way. (from Pray Now People of the Way)

12th to 18th:

In this Christian Aid Week let us celebrate with many other churches in Scotland the potential to change the world through generosity and positive action. We ask God’s blessing on Anne Brown our Christian Aid Coordinator and all who raise funds and support Christian Aid. Together we have the power to change lives.

19th to 25th:

Be always humble, gentle and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another. Ephesians 4:2

Loving God, we ask your blessing on the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland which begins on Saturday 18th May. Pray for the Heart and Soul event in Princes Street Gardens on Sunday that it will bring hope and encouragement to all who attend. Lord give wisdom to the Moderator Rev. Colin Sinclair as he chairs debates and carries out his duties throughout the year.

26th May to 1st June:

Pray and give thanks for all who are contributing to the worship and work of this parish. Ask God’s help in supporting each other.
