A wonderful warm welcome was extended by Session Clerk John Wallace from the congregation of St Nicholas Church to Edinburgh Presbytery, neighbouring churches, friends and family of Rev Dr Tom Kisitu, on the occasion of his induction service.
Leading the service, were Rev Dr Karen Campbell, Moderator of the Presbytery, Rev Michael Mair, St David's Broomhouse and Rev George J Whyte, Presbytery Clerk.
After the formal proceedings in the Sanctuary, everyone was welcomed for hospitality in the halls where Tom was presented with a gift, a Stole from Lily Anderson and his wife Winifred a bouquet from Bethany Seggie. Rev Tom, introduced his supporting speaker Rev Mike Frew who spoke warmly of Tom. This was followed with a presentation to the Interim Moderator Rev Ian Wells. Prior to the vote of thanks by Heather Seggie and closing prayer by Lawrie Hudson, Edinburgh City Mission, the African Ladies Choir gave us a joyful rendition of "We are Marching in the Light of God". Rev Tom and Rev Mike closed the proceedings with the Blessing.
Preparations started at 3pm, while celebrations lasted until 10pm
